Mothertongue celebrates award success

.jpg)
On Thursday 25th June Mothertongue staff, volunteers, friends and supporters, past and present, were invited on a riverboat cruise to celebrate the success of the Queen's Award for Volunteering.Amongst the guests there were volunteers who had worked with Mothertongue for over 5 years. There were also past and present Management Committee members.
The riverboat cruised to Mapledurham and the weather and scenery was enjoyed by all. A raffle was organised with prizes donated from Toni & Guy, Patricia Sutcliff, Guida Shields, Farrukh Khalid and the H:Room.
The highlight of the evening was an Auction of Pledges. Volunteers and supporters had pledged an activity which was then auctioned to those present. Nick Fletcher did a fantastic job of being auctioneer and the whole event was a huge success.
The event proved to be a fantastic fund-raiser also and over £850.00 was raised by the raffle, auction and donations for Mothertongue.
